A public opinion poll making the rounds in Utah is testing some wild theories about mass deportation - including smaller class sizes and more harmonious neighborhoods.

Survey suggests expelling immigrants would solve traffic, education woes

Could expelling millions of immigrants from American soil be the solution to overcrowded classrooms and gridlocked highways? Those curious arguments are being tested in a public opinion poll circulating in Utah.

A reader passed along screenshots from a mysterious online survey, delivered through a link sent via text message. The survey tested public perception perception of the “big, beautiful bill” passed by Congress and signed into law by President Donald Trump earlier this month and asked which party recipients planned to support in the 2026 midterm elections. Utah Political Watch was unable to determine the organization was responsible for the poll.

Some of the anti-immigrant messaging from the survey has already begun to pop up at the highest levels of the Trump White House.

In a recent interview with Fox News’ Jesse Waters, White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller used the traffic and public school issues as a way to demonize immigrants.

“Why is it that Democrats are so insistent that unlimited numbers of illegals from countries that are incapable of managing their own affairs come here? Countries like Somalia, countries like Haiti, countries that have no history of successful self-government. They (Democrats) want unlimited numbers of illegals and refugees from those countries to come here,” Miller said.

“What has it done to our schools? What has it done to our hospitals? What has it done to just traffic in our cities?”
